Our Story

Why We Exist

It started when Madison and Stacy were volunteering at a local soup kitchen. They loved being there, but more than that, they loved the people they were serving. Very quickly, they both felt like something was missing, not in the need being met, but in the way love was being expressed.

Soup and simple sandwiches filled stomachs, but they kept thinking about how much a warm, home-cooked meal means to people emotionally. So they began bringing in what they knew how to make, like shrimp alfredo, pot roast, breakfast for dinner, meals that felt like home. What began as a small idea in that kitchen grew into a bigger mission. They started this nonprofit to meet not just physical needs, but emotional ones too, and to help other soup kitchens bring that same sense of comfort, dignity, and care into their own communities.

[Stacy McClure]

Stacy McClure

Secretary

I’m a mom of four and someone who cares a lot about helping people in my community. I like being part of work that supports families and individuals who are going through hard times, especially when it comes to food insecurity. I try to show up where I’m needed and do what I can to help things run smoothly behind the scenes. Being part of Gathered & Fed matters to me because I believe in treating people with dignity and making sure they feel cared for and supported.

[Seanna Hall]

Seanna Hall

Treasurer

Seanna’s heart for community care comes from her own experiences with food insecurity and times of being unhoused. Those seasons shaped her deep belief that everyone deserves access to nourishing food and to be treated with dignity and compassion.
She brings empathy, resilience, and a genuine love for people into everything she does.

Sarah Ackman

Volunteer Coordinator

Hi, I'm Sarah, a proud mom and small business owner who runs a cleaning business and loves connecting with people. I believe everyone deserves to feel loved and, most importantly, to be fed, which is why giving back means so much to me. Growing up, my family relied on community programs at times, so l understand how important that support can be. I'm a reliable, hardworking, and social person who enjoys cooking, spending time with my family, and caring for my animals. I have three dogs and several cats, and I'm grateful to be part of something that makes a difference in people's lives.
